Successful ACT Showjumping Cup 2016
StartFragmentThe ACT Showjumping Club again held a successful 2016 Showjumping Cup. Our horses jumped like little champions all weekend. The Hughes family and the Emmaville team had a successful and very enjoyable weekend of jumping. Emma and Emmaville Prince jumped lovely rounds in the 95cm and 1.05m classes. Alyssa and Emmaville Pine, also had some lovely rounds in the 1.05m classes, and placed 5th in the 1.05m on the first day of competition. Emmaville Charisma was placed 3rd in the Mini Prix.
The ACTEWAGL Showjumping Cup was a very good event with wonderful combinations of riders and horses. The hot and humid conditions created a challenge for the riders and horses. Grant, as first clear round in the jump off with Yakity Yak, decided to aim for a conservative clear round, despite the wonderful combinations following his round. This decision paid off when he and Yakity Yak were the only combination with double clear rounds and they became winners of the cup, following up their win in the 2014 ACT Showjumping Cup. Yak is a very special horse and he continues to show what a talented and huge hearted fellow he truly is.
Many of our clients and staff also had a great weekend, with fantastic rounds on their lovely horses. Thank you to their continued support and well done to you all for your great sportsmanship and dedication to this sport.
Thank you to our wonderful team of helpers for their help with preparing our horses for this weekend. We would also like to thank the hard working committee and volunteers of the ACT Showjumping Club. Tim Dansey built challenging courses in ring one which created very good competition. It was also lovely to catch up with old and new friends over the weekend. EndFragment
